I’m the newest user of Twitter, and it’s awesome. Twitter is a 140 character “microblogging” site which allows people to receive text messages of other people blog posts. Receiving text messages (SMSes) is free and there are a lot of interesting applications you can use on Twitter.
What I use twitter most for is to receive news from Singapore and beyond. I subscribe to SGnews and the New York Times, and key in on happenings in Singapore. Which is really good, since then you cannot ignore the news.
I’ve been going through a mini technological “renaissance” in the past few months, being in Stanford, the mecca of the digital world. It is interesting how much your school changes you- if I had been in an east coast college, I’d arguably be learning more about how policy can change the world. In Stanford, I’m learning more of how technology can change the world. Interesting how this has changed my world view, and I’m happy that I came here.
